The short version

Tattoo removal is done with a picosecond laser. Size, color and age of the ink all change the plan, so pricing happens at the consultation. Most tattoos take six to twelve sessions.

How it works

Tattoos are made to last, but life circumstances change.

Whether you are looking to remove a tattoo that no longer represents who you are, fade a design to prepare for a cover-up, or clear ink for professional or personal reasons, laser tattoo removal here offers a safe, proven path to clearer skin.

Our laser tattoo removal technology works by delivering ultra-short pulses of high-intensity light energy into the skin at specific wavelengths. This energy is selectively absorbed by the tattoo ink particles, causing them to fragment into tiny pieces. These microscopic ink fragments are then naturally recognized, processed, and eliminated by your body’s immune system over the weeks following each treatment session.

Different ink colors absorb different wavelengths of light. Black and dark blue inks are the most responsive to laser treatment, as they absorb the broadest spectrum of light wavelengths. Green and light blue inks can be more resistant and may require specialized wavelengths and additional sessions. Our laser systems are equipped with multiple wavelength capabilities, allowing us to effectively target a wide range of ink colors for full removal.

Because every tattoo is unique in its ink composition, depth, color palette, size, and age, every treatment plan here is fully customized. During your consultation, we conduct a thorough assessment of your tattoo and provide a realistic timeline and expectation for your removal process.

How many sessions will it take to remove my tattoo?

The number of sessions varies significantly based on your tattoo’s size, ink colors, density, age, location, and your body’s healing response. Most tattoos require six to twelve sessions for significant fading or complete removal. During your consultation at our Fishkill, NY location, we provide an estimated session range specific to your tattoo after a thorough assessment.

Does laser tattoo removal hurt?

Most clients describe the sensation as similar to a rubber band snapping against the skin, with a warming feeling in the treatment area. Discomfort varies depending on the tattoo’s location and your individual pain tolerance. We use cooling methods during and after treatment to maximize comfort. The sensation is brief, as most treatment sessions last only 15 to 30 minutes.

Can all tattoo colors be removed?

Black and dark blue inks respond most effectively and typically achieve the best clearance results. Our multi-wavelength laser system can also effectively target red, orange, dark green, and many other colors. Light blue, light green, yellow, and white inks can be more resistant and may require additional sessions. During your consultation, we assess each color in your tattoo and provide specific expectations for each.

Can you partially remove a tattoo for a cover-up?

Yes, tattoo fading for cover-up preparation is one of our most popular services. Rather than pursuing complete removal, we strategically lighten the existing tattoo to create a better canvas for your new design. This typically requires fewer sessions than full removal and gives your cover-up artist much more flexibility in design options. We recommend consulting with your tattoo artist about their desired level of fading before beginning treatment.

What is the healing process like after a tattoo removal session?

After treatment, the area may show whitening, redness, swelling, and occasionally blistering, all of which are normal healing responses. We apply a soothing ointment and bandage after each session. Over the following one to two weeks, the area heals, and treated ink continues to be processed by your body. We provide detailed aftercare instructions including keeping the area clean, avoiding sun exposure, and not picking at any scabbing or blistering.

How much does tattoo removal cost?

Because every tattoo is unique, we base our pricing on a thorough in-person assessment during your complimentary consultation. Factors including size, ink colors, ink density, and estimated number of sessions all contribute to your personalized quote. We offer package pricing for multi-session treatment plans and can discuss financing options to help make your tattoo removal goals achievable.
