What is a micro-peel?
A micro-peel is a superficial chemical exfoliation that uses a low concentration of active acids to gently dissolve the bonds between dead skin cells on the surface of the skin.
Unlike deeper chemical peels that penetrate into the mid-layers of the dermis and require recovery time, micro-peels work exclusively on the outermost layer, making them an ideal “lunchtime” treatment with no visible peeling or downtime.
Micro-peels typically use alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) such as glycolic, lactic, or mandelic acid, or beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) like salicylic acid. Your esthetician selects the acid type and concentration based on your skin type, sensitivity level, and the concerns you want to address. The result is immediately smoother, brighter skin with improved texture and a healthy glow.
