The short version

PDRN is a regenerative treatment people ask about for overall skin quality. It can be done on the face, neck, chest and hands, and it is planned as a series.

What is PDRN?

Polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) is a biologically active compound derived from purified DNA fragments, typically sourced from salmon DNA.

These fragments work at the cellular level by binding to adenosine A2A receptors, which play a critical role in tissue repair, anti-inflammatory response, and angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels that deliver oxygen and nutrients to the skin.

PDRN has been used in wound healing and regenerative medicine for years and has gained significant attention in aesthetic medicine for its ability to rejuvenate aging and damaged skin at the deepest level. Unlike treatments that work on the surface, PDRN activates your body’s own repair mechanisms to rebuild skin from the cellular level up, improving elasticity, hydration, texture, and overall skin health.

How PDRN works for Skin rejuvenation

When PDRN is introduced into the skin through microinjections, it triggers a cascade of regenerative responses.

The DNA fragments stimulate fibroblast proliferation, the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin, leading to firmer, more resilient skin over time. Simultaneously, PDRN promotes the formation of new microvascular networks that improve blood flow and nutrient delivery to the treated areas.

The anti-inflammatory properties of PDRN make it particularly effective for skin that has been compromised by sun damage, environmental stress, acne scarring, or post-procedural recovery. By calming inflammation at the receptor level, PDRN accelerates healing while reducing redness and irritation. This dual action of regeneration and repair makes it a powerful standalone treatment and an exceptional complement to procedures like microneedling, laser resurfacing, and chemical peels.

Your PDRN treatment experience

PDRN therapy here involves a series of precise microinjections delivered into the targeted treatment areas.

A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand for comfort. The treatment typically takes 20 to 30 minutes and can be performed on the face, neck, decolletage, and hands.

Most patients experience only mild redness and small injection marks that resolve within 24 to 48 hours. There is no significant downtime, and you can return to daily activities immediately. Results develop progressively over the following weeks as cellular repair and collagen production accelerate. For optimal results, we recommend a series of three to four treatments spaced two to three weeks apart, followed by maintenance sessions every three to six months to sustain the regenerative benefits.

Why people choose PDRN here.

Everyone who treats you here is licensed. The practice was founded by a clinical laser trainer who teaches other practices, and training is how this team works.

  • Cellular-level repair

DNA fragments activate your body’s own tissue repair pathways, stimulating fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin from within.

  • Powerful anti-inflammatory

Binds to A2A receptors to calm inflammation, ideal for damaged, stressed, or post-procedure skin recovery.

  • Improved Skin quality

Enhances hydration, elasticity, and texture for skin that looks healthier, bouncier, and more luminous over time.

  • Boosts healing & recovery

Accelerates recovery after laser treatments, peels, and microneedling while enhancing their overall results.

  • New blood vessel formation

Promotes angiogenesis to improve blood flow and nutrient delivery, revitalizing dull and oxygen-deprived skin.

  • Quick with minimal downtime

20 to 30 minute sessions with only mild redness that resolves within a day or two.

What is the difference between PDRN, PRP, and PRF?

PRP and PRF are both derived from your own blood and deliver growth factors to stimulate regeneration. PDRN is a different compound entirely, it consists of purified DNA fragments that activate specific cellular repair receptors. PDRN works at the DNA level to stimulate fibroblast activity, reduce inflammation, and promote new blood vessel formation. These treatments can complement each other beautifully as part of a full regenerative plan.

Is PDRN safe?

Yes. PDRN has been extensively studied and used in regenerative medicine for wound healing and tissue repair. It is a purified, biocompatible compound with an excellent safety profile. Side effects are typically limited to mild redness and small injection marks at the treatment sites that resolve quickly.

How many PDRN sessions do I need?

We recommend a series of three to four treatments spaced two to three weeks apart for optimal results. Maintenance sessions every three to six months help sustain the regenerative benefits. Your provider will create a personalized plan based on your skin condition and goals.

When will I see results?

Some patients notice improved hydration and skin quality within the first week. More significant improvements in firmness, texture, and elasticity develop over four to eight weeks as new collagen forms. Results continue to improve with each session in the series.

Can PDRN be combined with other treatments?

PDRN is an excellent complement to microneedling, laser resurfacing, and chemical peels. It can accelerate healing after these procedures while enhancing their collagen-stimulating effects. Your provider can recommend the ideal treatment combinations for your goals.

What areas can be treated with PDRN?

PDRN can be used on the face, neck, decolletage, and hands. It is particularly effective for areas showing signs of aging, sun damage, or compromised skin quality. During your consultation here, we will assess your skin and recommend the most beneficial treatment areas.
